The Durango doesn't get more love around here.

I didn't know there were any left. I figured they all broke down or rotted away in the woods somewhere.

Why? They’re awful.

Every time I try to buy one, the dude at the Buy Here Pay Here lot tells me I’m “overqualified” and “could get a much better rate somewhere else.” Probably racism.

I see one every day. A guy i work with still drives one. He’s got a lift kit on it that levels the front and rear, and some aggressive tires.

We've had 2 in my family - both bought new, both complete garbage. The idea of the Durango is a good one. The execution by Chrysler, not so much.

I learned how to drive on a 2001 Durango, was a great vehicle my mom drove one for 15 years that she had bought new.

My uncle had one. He got rid of it because it had issues early on and even in the time of cheap gas it guzzled it like no tomorrow.

That's cool. It's been a while since I've seen one let alone one that wasn't falling apart. Seems like they could've been great but weren't

Yeah, my dad and brother each bought one, and had plenty of issues early on. Unfortunately, they both just kept throwing money into them for years - especially my dad. The engines are bulletproof gas guzzlers, but everything else that matters (trans, steering, suspension, body, etc.) is highly unreliable.

Did you know:
In Mexico they actually sold a two door version?

These tend to get a lot of hate, but I’ve always liked them. I dated a gal whose parents had one, and she drove it much of the time. It had to be the most neglected Durango around, but it just kept on trucking. It had every option as well. It was stupid quick too for something so big. It could probably hit 60 in about 6 or 7.

Older Durango’s are trash embodied. The result of a company who literally painted shit and sold it. The newer ones are nice tho.

Yeesh that’s ugly. The front and back are fine, but the middle is just a mess.

I had a Dakota, and that thing was a piece of trash. However, it was certainly fun when you pressed hard on the go pedal.

I always liked the Shelby versions.

The family across the street from me has one. It’s held up surprisingly well, given the fact that they’re not a fan of maintaining ... anything.

I saw one of these when I went to Cancun on my first spring break (family trip) and it blew my mind. I’ve wanted one ever sense. Sure their a little goofy looking, and well, a Chrysler product, but I would still love to have one.

We had a 98 (1st year produced) with all the options and it was a blast, on road and off. It was however, plagued with electrical and transmission problems. And since I’m a masochist, I would love to have another.

Always likes the first generation Durango but I imagine they're steadily getting beat up on their 4/5 owner. Probably like the ford aerostar they'll become rare sites in a few years.

Note that the rear hatch is off a Caravan.
